Noël Milpied
Professor Noël Milpied was the head of the Hematology and Cell Therapy department at Bordeaux University Hospital and one of the pioneers in the field of allogenic hematopoietic cell transplantation in France.
After a post internship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle (USA), where he worked alongside Professor E. Donnall Thomas the pioneer in hematopoietic cell transplantation and future Nobel Prize winner, he returned to Nantes, in the Hematology department of Professor Jean-Luc Harousseau, where he was appointed University Professor-Hospital Practitioner (PU-PH). In 2005, he succeeds Josy Reiffers as head of the Hematology department of the Bordeaux University Hospital where he develops the transplantation activity. He was elected Chairman, of the French Society for Bone Marrow Transplantation and a member of the National Council of Universities.
Appointed Head of the Cancerology Center of the Bordeaux University Hospital, he also coordinated the Scientific Delegation for Clinical Research and Innovation until 2021. He is now consultant for the University hospital in Bordeaux.
He is the author or co-author of nearly 400 scientific articles.
